Your Responsibilities

As the Head of Genotyping you will be responsible for one of the laboratory departments focusing on our genetic testing services. Your role will require leadership, ensuring goals related to our testing services (quality, compliance, delivery reliability, cost management) are met, and innovative thinking to streamline laboratory processes.

Manage and supervise the diagnostic genetic services at Centogene
Manage and supervise a laboratory team of 20 Scientists and laboratory technicians
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate the test portfolio and streamline the lab processes
Stay current with developments in technologies for genetic testing and ensure the department is equipped with the latest tools and techniques
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines and quality standards (e.g. ISO15189, GCLP)

Your profile

PhD in Medicine or Biology with a focus on genetic testing
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical laboratory for genetic testing
First leadership experience, ideally in an international environment and strong communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective techniques for genetic testing
In-depth knowledge of genetic techniques (Sanger sequencing, MLPA, Chromosomal Microarray), knowledge in next-generation sequencing (NGS) is a plus
Familiar with laboratory requirements according to ISO15189
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Deine Aufgaben

Leitung und Beaufsichtigung der diagnostischen genetischen Prozesse bei Centogene
Leitung und Beaufsichtigung eines Laborteams von 20 Wissenschaftlern und Labortechnikern
Zusammenarbeit mit funktionsübergreifenden Teams, um das Testportfolio zu erweitern und die Laborprozesse zu optimieren
Die Entwicklung der Technologien für Gentests zu verfolgen und sicherzustellen, dass die Abteilung mit den neuesten Instrumenten und Techniken ausgestattet ist
Sicherstellung der Einhaltung aller einschlägigen Vorschriften, Richtlinien und Qualitätsstandards (z. B. ISO15189, GCLP)

Dein Profil

Promotion in Medizin oder Biologie mit Schwerpunkt auf Gentests
Mindestens 3 Jahre Erfahrung in einem medizinischen Labor für Gentests
Relevante Führungserfahrung, idealerweise in einem internationalen Umfeld, und ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeiten
Nachgewiesene Fähigkeit, effektive Techniken für Gentests zu erarbeiten und umzusetzen
Vertiefte Kenntnisse genetischer Techniken (Sanger-Sequenzierung, MLPA, Chromosomen-Microarray), Kenntnisse in der Sequenzierung der nächsten Generation (NGS) sind von Vorteil
Vertrautheit mit den Laboranforderungen gemäß ISO15189
Ausgeprägte Problemlösungs- und Entscheidungsfähigkeiten
