We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Developer to join our Bioinformatics team. You will play a key role in the development and optimization of our cloud-based bioinformatics pipeline platform (CentoDX) and related diagnostic tools. Your work will directly contribute to advancing precision medicine through scalable and efficient NGS data processing systems.

Design, develop, and optimize cloud-based bioinformatics pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Lambda, and Step Functions
Orchestrate high-throughput NGS data workflows, including batch processing and parallel execution
Develop and enhance internal bioinformatics applications and diagnostic tools
Implement new features and maintain existing components within our software ecosystem
Monitor and maintain automated data processing pipelines, ensuring robustness and reliability
Collaborate with medical experts, stakeholders, and the diagnostics team to define and implement new diagnostic methods
Ensure high software quality through documentation, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices

Dein Profil

5+ years of professional experience in software development using Python and SQL
Strong expertise in MySQL, including query optimization, schema design, and integration with Python-based systems
Experience with key Python libraries and frameworks: NumPy, Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, FastAPI, Django, Flask
Proven experience working in cloud environments (preferably AWS) for scalable bioinformatics applications
Deep understanding of Python application architecture and modular design principles
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and the command line (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Git)
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, versioning, and maintainability
Background in Biology, Genetics, or Medicine is a strong plus; familiarity with NGS data is highly desirable

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and align with company objectives
